When Earth Meets Fire

A Story by Jeremiah Medina
"

Lovers torment...

"
She was found with diamonds growing inside her.
She cried tears of jewel and bled ruby.
He has seen all that has ever been.
All that ever will be.
Yet blind to the present he remains.

They were innocent of hatred.
Oblivious to evil, no cares at all.
The dead spoke in music to them.
Constantly reaching out to relive fallen lives.
Communing with nature, they played with the unknown.
Casting spells and chants, sipping potion after potion.
Searching for every answer and cure there was.
Evil looked on and laughed, waiting for the perfect moment.
She was obsessed, vain, she attempted to invoke the divine.
Impossible for her to accomplish, her guard was down.
It came for her, in mid circle, devastating her energy.
It devoured her spirit leaving a mindless statue, eyes void of life.
He looked on in terror, his loves spirit taken, as evil took her form and likeness.
His energies were stronger then hers.
Just barely he managed to pretect his loves body and his own.
Through the ceremony he had unlocked the element of earth in himself.
Naturally born energy, built up for ages.
He became one with the ground they stood on, the rocks surrounding them.
With the last of his power, he sunk the three of them into the ground.
The evil, along with his beloved at his side.
The sunk to the very core of the world.
Dropping into its magma center.
The evil was reduced too black liquid and was scattered to pools under the surface.
The witch being of fire nature was released, from its grasp.
She held her beloved magi, protecting him from the flame.
Feeding him with her diamonds and jewels, she revived him.
But doing so transformed his body to the precious stones, she was created of.
And took from her her physical being, now being made entirely of flame.
Not able to leave the core, they are trapped forever.
Remaining centered, in each others loving embrace.
Until fate erases their prison, forgiving them of their mistakes.
