Merry-Go-Round

Merry-Go-Round

A Poem by Jeremiah Medina

As the merry-go-round spins
Your dizziness begins
Like fall down drunk
You stumble down
And walking like you'd walk on clouds
Your worlds spinning all around
All you can do is laugh
Laugh away your misery
As you go for one more ride
Another spin for every time
Every regret that's passed your mind
Another spin, forget it all
Another chance for you to fall
When you can only crawl
On hands and knees
You beg for one repeat
One chance to change it
Change everything
Everything that you did wrong
That dragged unhappiness along
And as the colorful ride spins on
With you there or with you gone
It doesn't matter
It will spin on
