Spirit

Spirit

A Poem by Jeremiah Medina

Ghost whispers faintly in unsuspecting ears
What's my name mister?
Calmly without fear
If only I remembered
Shivers with foggy breaths
I can't see you, are you there?
An ancient lost spirit
Disappearing in chilly air
How it never is quite fair
For an instance hearts skip
Beat in unison unconsciously
Could I have known?
This world seeming so cold
Will we get the chance to grow old?
Wonders of conversing with souls
Have we the chance to save ourselves?
Questioning the strangest of unknowns
Dive deeper in the shadows son
For we'll find peace with in our love
Always and forever might just be fun
Minding nothing and never minding
Accept what we have become
Energy bodies vibrating as one
Did they destroy us all?
Are we left in illusions of continuation?
Breathe deep the inclination
Yet we've survived the radiation
Inexplicable and fantastic mutations
Though the pain lingers on
Ask the ghost who lost the battle
Can I help you, what's the matter?
A name forgotten in time
Perhaps something that rhymes
I'll show you the light
The portal summoned
Your answers on the other side
Fear not what lies ahead
This moment is all there is
Dear departed friend
Find your happy place with in
Moving on after the end.
