Terrible Compassion

Terrible Compassion

A Poem by Jeremiah Medina

Severity of twitching.
A body thrashing.
Smoldering corpses.
Fingers in holes.
Shocked expressions.
Ash drifting away.
Held breathless.
Silent still screaming.
Blank distant stares.
Years later.
Unexpected returns.
Innocent turned rabid.
Feast upon those.
That did slay.
With out provoking.
Murdered by stranger.
No reason.
Concerned for.
Observe them rise.
Know nothing fool.
Appearing suddenly.
Mob of bloodthirsty.
Terrified belligerence.
Wont be escaping.
Blood of the.
Spilled again.
Another attempt.
Bring hell to.
Balance disturbed.
Light and shadow.
Ancient wars.
Middle of battle.
Refuse to give.
Wont breakthrough.
Hold the ground.
Allies of mine.
For that loss.
The victims cry.
For every tear.
Unjustly spilled.
Every drop of.
Life fed on.
Souls stolen.
Some sold.
Only weakened.
Lack of will.
None their own.
Tread warily all.
Some gave.
Grim mistakes of.
The enslaved.
Assist them if.
You can.
In the end.
Up to them.
Some can only.
Save themselves.
Fresh exorcisms.
Carefully consider.
No consent.
Damned betrayers.
Colors shown.
Friendly rapists.
My hatred of.
Out of honesty.
Not finished.
Die miserably.
For kept secrets.
Forgiveness is.
Lets just say.
Fate wont be.
Kind as me.
Their laughter.
Unimaginable rage.
Faint whispers.
Truth of the.
No matter.
Distant memories.
Real friends here.
Accidental tragedy.
Bragged about.
Hadn't even.
Relationship status.
Chuckles and giggles.
Mocking the tortured.
How funny.
Time got away.
Recollecting the.
Never agreed to.
Blacking out.
Spiked with.
Hair of the.
Word got around.
Into what?
What the f**k.
Is that?
Said who?
Preference is.
No concern.
Did you concur?
Nope, sure didn't.
Beat down.
Apologies of.
Thanks for the.
Blatant confession.
Rumors addressed.
You'll wish for.
As I said.
Slow burning.
Your assistance.
Grateful for.
Continued persistence
What had I.
Done to.
Searching for.
Decent companions.
Hope I've found.
At least some.
Know so.
Here's to you.
Much appreciated all.
Love always.
Yours truly.
Compassion.
