The cheater is fast
The snail is slow
Not too fast
To out run the call
Nor too slow
To delay the hour
For life is a journey
We troll
Like Snail and the cheater
We follow
As the day draws near
We grow
At the apex of life
We fall
Not to fast
Or to slow
To dust
We rest our souls
But before then
We all know
Joy and pain
Comes to all

'joy and pain'
jayson,
This was very sobering. I remember being a child, a teenager, a young adult. Life is precious and I know that it can be painful. Your poem above was one which I wondered what your story is and where these words came from. You are a thinking person, a thoughtful person it seems.
