Through Blood Shot Eyes

Through Blood Shot Eyes

A Chapter by Jason

Silent is my cry for redemption

Felt are my scars and fears

I see my future only through blood shot eyes

I plead now on weathered knees for forgiveness

I have lived in shadow and lashed out at the light

Now I wish only to glance upon its beauty

Poisoned I am with guilt for the nightmares I have given birth to

I swallow my pride and as it glides slowly to my stomach it cuts like razorblades

I know what must be done and how far I must travel

With blood soaked hands I will climb from this self loathing pit of misery

Now forgiven and deserving I will sew my garden and plant a new seed

Yesterday is forgotten and tomorrow has just begun.

I like the imagery, "weathered knees", "cuts like razorblades", "blood soaked hands". I also like the end of course because it's hopeful.
