SavannahA Poem by JasonOne for my Love
Plunging to the hollow tears of ones lost heart Shadows creep in and all is forgot But never fear for my mind is still clear The birds may not sing and the meadows not sewn but my heart can be found It’s just covered in stone Searching I am for the things once held A tender loving kiss and tale still untold She opens her loving arms for my soiled existence Why me? I asked in desperation She didn’t speak but gave me a smile A broken heart knows loves pain Your still alive and need not be ashamed I have chosen thee for thou lost heart For I hold a key to unlocking lost thoughts She gave me a kiss that opened my mind An image of family and love at the same time Her touch was so warming and exotic to feel I pulled her in close and brushed my fingers through her hair Our souls where entwined if just for a moment but that’s all its takes to forget your broken So a summer has past and the winter has come but my heart is still warming and breaking its cast I know what love is and she shows me everyday I hold on to that first smile and remember the day When my heart left its grave. © 2009 JasonAuthor's Note
