A Lovers Wish

A Lovers Wish

A Chapter by Jason

Has the fearful calling of death named me yet?

Why must the apple rot and the vein grow thin?

Alas I will carry out my life a solid widow

My hair a once vibrant brown with curls of passion

Heart shaped lips and emerald green eyes once caught the glare of others

I stand alone atop the mountain of life feeling the winds of past brush against my weathered cheeks

Be still my somber weeping heart for the stairs beyond are not far

My aching hands a cold display of being a single working mother

My womb is dry yet I still carry the weight of my children

Their little rosy cheeks are all but dried now

As the dark clouds approach and the wind picks up my balance begins to falter

Hold fast for the time is coming and the unicorn is making its final stride

Cast the rock and stone that bares weight to mortal minds

Give birth to the wings that carry me past the sky

Know my love is strong and will with stand the iron clad of time

Fear not my children for your father is with me now

My hair returned and eyes a new as he welcomes me from a far

At last the heart melts and remolds its once rusted lust

Be calm my children for I have finally come to rest.
