A Dream of Joe Strummer

A Dream of Joe Strummer

A Poem by Jay Levon

"The secret of life isn't found
in the beginning, middle, or end.
It's scattered throughout.
Dropped like clues and breadcrumbs.
It's up to us Boy-o, to put it together.
Remember to start with the corners."
Joe Strummer says this to me
in a dream within a dream, while we
share a taxi in New York City.
Everytime I awake from this dream
I'm angry.  Because, I didn't ask
what I wanted to ask.
Like:
"Hey Joe, how's the afterlife?"
or
"Is that Jesus dude as cool
as he seems?"
or
"Have you taught the devil to play guitar?"

You must have an interesting list of dead people you'd like to have dinner with.

The quote at the beginning is amazing, as is the question at the end.

Thank you for sharing.
