Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day

A Poem by Jayda Jackson

Hey there happy Father's Day,
This is from me to you.
I just want to show my appreciation,
Of everything you do.
From start to finish,
From day one to now.
You've been really great,
And I'm glad you're around.
It wasn't always this way,
Things used to be bad.
But once you came around,
We seen something we never had.
I'm not speaking materials,
I'm not talking things.
There was just something special,
That you just seemed to bring.
You are so amazing,
I'm grateful you're here to stay.
Without you things'd be different,
I couldn't live any other way.
You got us living happy,
You make sure it stays that way,
You teach us how to prosper,
When things don't go our way.
I remember all the days,
And all of our wishes.
I loved when coming home from school,
And you had done the dishes.
The little things that caught us kids,
The things you thought was nothing.
It grew our support and trust in you,
That this could one day be something.
But just because you helped around,
Just because you cared.
We still managed to push you out,
And let it be known mom is not shared.
But still you kept on trying,
You tried your very best.
Now look at us today,
You certainly passed the test.
It's crazy enough to think,
Life's never been this way..
You kept your word- you are here,
You are here to stay.
It hurts to think about it,
But the truth shows out bright.
You have made a difference,
You have shown us light.
It wasn't always this way,
Things used to be bad.
But once you came around,
We seen something we never had.
I'm not speaking materials,
I'm not talking things.
There was just something special,
That you just seemed to bring.
We never felt this connection,
It's something we never had..
I think I found the word for it..
We've never had a dad..
