Wake up and smile

Wake up and smile

A Poem by Jayda Jackson

There's something about us,
There's something about you.
I can't stop thinking,
Of what I should do.
I know you're very stressed,
It kills you to talk about stuff.
But I'm here to listen to you,
Even when things get rough.
You may think I don't listen,
Or that I don't understand.
But I truly hear every word,
And I'm here to give a hand.
But giving a hand isn't anything,
It doesn't matter at all.
If you don't attempt take it,
And allow me to catch your fall.
Anyone can hear you,
But not everybody listens.
But I won't leave you alone,
Until I've seen your smile has risen.
I know you think I don't get you,
I know you feel misunderstood.
But I just say things to help,
As what a true friend should.
But deep down I know the feeling,
My dad hasn't been around.
If he were to come and apologize,
I'd laugh at him and clown.
He doesn't deserve my trust,
He doesn't deserve my love.
He should've tried it sooner,
And not because I've grown up.
Your family is family,
And that's what I try to say.
Because even tho they've made mistakes,
They're your blood anyway.
You've never had that bond tho,
You've never laughed and played.
And now that you're older,
You're not on the fun and games.
To them- they have a chance,
To you- they've ran out.
To them- sorry is enough,
To you- that's not what it's about.
The fact that you have tried,
The things that you have wanted.
It doesn't matter now,
For so long they have fronted.
You're worth the world to me,
I love our corny fights.
It kills me how we get an attitude,
Our friendship feels so right.
And just because I try to help,
In the wrongest ways.
Know that I understand you,
Even with the different viewpoints I say.
Know that you are pretty,
Know that you a beast.
Know that I am here forever,
At the very least.
I know that you are sleeping,
I hope when you awake.
That you will smile happily,
With the biggest smile you can make.
