Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas

A Poem by Jayda Jackson

We are here today,
Together as a family.
We are here to share,
The day of Christmas merrily.
To spread the joy,
To give thanks up above.
But to also crack a smile,
To fill another's heart with love.
Of course we will have fun,
But there is much we mustnt miss.
That today was the addition,
Of the wonderful Jesus.
It is normal to think today of gifts,
We think how big how small.
But we are gathered here right now,
To appreciate the greatest gift of all.
Thank you god that we are living,
Thank you for this day.
Thank you god that we are healthy,
Thank you in every way.
Now that we have thanked him,
Now that we have prayed.
I've added a little extra,
That I would like to say.
Have you felt that feeling,
That suddenly comes then goes.
It hits you in the chest,
But you take it nice and slow.
This feeling has a name,
It is known as the Past.
We all have our visions,
Some we hope to last.
But what I have to say,
Is probably outdated.
But I want to let it be known,
How much Mom should be appreciated.
Her past hasn't been the best,
Yet we're here today together.
She's the reason we are happy,
She is our forever .
But think back to the old days,
Just enough to see.
All of the things we've been through,
As a family.
A tear may drop,
But you won't cry.
You want to let out,
But you dont try.
I will say something ,
I am strong.
So you feel,
but not for long.
You try to speak,
But the words won't come.
For if you talk,
You feel so dumb.
But today is Christmas,
I AM STRONG.
I will speak,
But not for long.
Our mother has changed,
It is so great to see.
That life today,
Isn't how it used to be.
The thought is brought up,
But she isn't never prized.
Lets think about it now,
She should be recognized.
It takes a lot of strength,
It's takes a lot of thunder.
But it takes a woman like Sabrina,
To actually be called a mother.
..
But no there's more,
I lied a bit.
There's this special guy,
We can't forget.
He's brought us closer,
He lends a hand.
He's that somebody,
You'd call a man.
Well I'd call him step father
I guess that's not so bad.
But step doesn't mean much,
I'd rather call him dad.
Back to the meaning,
Back to the gist.
I'd simply like to ensure,
Everyone a Merry Christmas.

That was so warm and loving. Being someone who celebrates Christmas I can attest to just how wonderful of a holiday it really is. This poem hit it right on the nose so to speak. The flow felt very nice and well placed. It floated in a way that was well placed and eloquent. This was a real beauty. Good work.
