Love to the EaglesA Poem by JayceeCRIP Glenn. Sometimes an album describes the whole thingOur love played out like a long Eagles album There were words for us in every tune From the warm February afternoon we met Until that cold day you left in the middle of June. We started out with Life in the Fast Lane Then quickly moved on to One of These Nights The Witchy Woman and Desperado Just crusin' through life, enjoying the sights. Hoping to hurry to get to nowhere I tried time and time to walk away. Can't Tell You Why, but I couldn't leave. Something stopped me, Love had to stay. Deep down I know you had The Best of My Love, And, however flawed, I had yours too. A precious gift we forgot to cherish You climbed your fence for somewhere new. The last time I saw you I thought I was ready For the Heartache that 'Night when you had to go. Locked up tight inside my own Sad Cafe I wondered if love, you'd ever know. We had come to our own Last Resort; Our We tried our hardest to hold it together But compromise just couldn't be found. Thinking of you years and years later I'm happy to say the one thing I find When I get down to the Heart of the Matter, It really wasn't Wasted Time. Thank you to Glenn Fry and Don Henly for writing some of the best songs and lyrics ever. You touched out hearts and made us think. © 2016 JayceeCAuthor's Note
