Reflections of Dismay

Dismay stares back from

The ladies room mirror

The glare of two blue moons

Not cast through the bright window

Masks the desperation

Bursting through panicked synapses.

Clock hands climb closer

Always in precise order

Nature’s strict taskmaster

Ticks never relenting

Not one nanosecond

In collaboration.

Mongoose-earned taut buttocks

A sad consolation prize

The joy of wind rushing

Fleeting as morning dew

The HPV commute while free

Exacts an exorbitant price.

The heal-shod financier

Has deemed the method lacking

For what savvy woman

No matter how green conscious

Will trade her crowning glory

For helmet-head at the office.

Author's Note

Written for a word challenge contest in the forum. This is not me being serious about poetry, its my brain cling to a challenge. We only needed 7 of the 14 words but i couldn't let go ..lol
make of it what you will as always...There is no hurting my feelings, but again Connect people. If you like it tell me why not just its good or its sucks. The key to being a decent writer is being able to critique or comment successfully on others work.

This is beautiful. It'll be probably take me a couple more reads to get all the metaphors, but your writing is lulling and rich. Amazing. Thanks for sharing.
