Chapter TwoA Chapter by Jay_BluefireFlashback to 2015YEAR: 2015 LOCATION: My bedroom STATUS: Filing I stared at the files. It had taken me weeks to put together all of the information on me and my friends. Everyone knows that a filing system is needed for any organization, to record the heroes who work there, the villains who they fight most often, any sightings of possible new recruits, or stirrings of new villains to face. I placed the first file on the ground. NAME: Redmond (Red) Davis ALIAS: Shade ABILITIES: Umbrakinesis, telepathy GENDER/AGE: Male; 14 H/E/S COLOR: Red/Grey/Light WOC: War hammer OTHER: Parentage unknown Red. My best friend, and the first I had gone to for ideas in forming the company. I slid his file to the side and pulled out another. NAME: Victoria (Vicky) O’Brian ALIAS: Shockwave ABILITIES: Electrokinesis GENDER/AGE: Female; 15 H/E/S COLOR: Black/Green/Olive WOC: Two single-edged short swords OTHER: Good leadership skills There were more files in the stack. I set them, one on top of the other. All of my friends. The other creators of Clandestine. NAME: Richard (Ricky) Smith ALIAS: Blaze ABILITIES: Pyrokinesis GENDER/AGE: Male/14 H/E/S COLOR: Dark brown/Brown/Light WOC: Longsword OTHER: Always joking around, serious when necessary NAME: Jazmine (Jaz) Ray ALIAS: Smog ABILITIES: Air mimicry GENDER/AGE: Female/15 H/E/S COLOR: Dark blonde/Hazel/Light WOC: Bow/arrows OTHER: Took archery for… basically her whole life They’re my team. My best friends all my life. I turned to the last file. My file. I stacked it on top of the others. NAME: Kailee (Kai) Walters ALIAS: Technologist ABILITIES: Technopathy GENDER/AGE: Female/15 H/E/S COLOR: Blonde/Dark blue/Light WOC: Various technological devices, including palm knives OTHER: Leader of Clandestine; has cybernetic arms. Me. Kailee Walters. I stared at the paper a moment more, at the few sentences that were… me. Leader of Clandestine. The name of the organization was semi-appropriate. We weren’t doing anything illegal (or as the definition said: illicit) but the word in itself sounded… perfect. Clandestine. I picked up the papers and slid them back into the folder I’d taken them out of. The folder went between two notebooks on my shelf of ideas. “Kai! Come on!” I peeked out my window to see Red and Victoria (Vicky, as we called her) standing in the street, staring up at my window. “We’re going to be late to school!” I snatched my backpack and tore out of the house to meet them. © 2018 Jay_Bluefire |
