Terminal Airport

Terminal Airport

A Poem by JayMo
"

reflecting on time once spent in an airport terminal

"

The hours pass by...

Planes come and go but I remain
People pass by speaking languages I don't speak
The sun sets on my dreams

When will this layover end?
Distance made me grow fonder
Then it made me grow weak

People with their luggage
Me with my baggage
So much but so empty

The time has come
My baggage follows me
As I take my window seat

As I look in the reflection off the glass
There you are dressed in gray
Broken, shattered dreams

Then the sun splits the clouds revealing my nightmare
Alone and shattered to pieces.
Crashed in flames

Will you give me one more chance?
I long to pick you up and show you the world
Oh to leave this terminal, to be your airplane

Author's Note

JayMo
I hope people catch the play on words with "terminal"...how I put it in front and it can refer to an airport terminal or like a "terminal" illness.
