The Moonlight Squire

The Moonlight Squire

A Poem by Lewis Findley
"

From The Squire to the Choir

"
The Moonlight Squire
God can take an old moonlight squire...
and set him right in the middle of a fine church choir...
The devil can make the old squire believe
that he's really happy,
but the squire really grieves...
Its not that the old squire is lacking in things...
that this old world and its labor brings...
Its just that something is missing as the squire has grown older...
and life has become for him the colder...
The old squire does find.. the Old Hymns of his youth...
The faith when he was a boy,,and he knows ....they are the truth...
And this story is also the truth, for dear reader, I would you see....
That old moonlight squire....
is none other than me....
