one's own self

one's own self

A Poem by Lewis Findley
"

being ones own self

"

One's own self is the only person one can be. l little sign is on the wall at the Garden City Church. I saw it. And I liked it most tremendously. In my late 30's and 40's I truly needed it. And believe me, I am not saying I don't need it today.

Being One's Self....

Ones Own self is the only person one can be.
Let him beware trying to be someone else,
lest he wander into a world imaginary.
For such is dangerous if left to ones own device.
The beginning is wonderful, truly, but later , not so nice.
The outer covering may look sleek and fair.
Inward is the woe, and all dread is there.
You are who you are. You are God's Creation,
Created for His Glory, unto perfect Salvation.l "
