Viejo (Old Man)

Viejo (Old Man)

A Poem by Lewis Findley

Juvento will attempt to speak his peace with his peace
drawn there with from his holster.
Juvento, Viejo has walked that low road also, go ahead, attempt your confidence to bolster.
He has watched his friends all die, one by one like dogs shot down.
He is the last one standing. And you and your Juventos stand all around.
He saw what happened with sharpened eye.
Saw his best friends son, shot dead.....and die.
Is he right to do things his own old school way....
Perhaps, perhaps not, Juvento, At his death , he will kneel, and he will pray.
