Mentor

Mentor

A Poem by Lewis Findley
"

Dedicated to teh man who was my mentor when i was a younger man, and his father, my othe rmentor, they are fathe rand son and both ministers

"
Mentors like him are one of a kind
from families that are the same
Godsends to rowdy disturbed teenage boys
Who are going through whatever kind of pain
Anchors to steady that ship that is tossed
on a raging and stormy sea
tossed by the waves of derision
and mine were tossed by many a hurricane and rising tsunami
And now, it does seem that his ship is tossed
God give me the strength to be
the anchor I must to steady his ship
as it is now tossed on the raging sea
for the 62 year old man, and his 85 year old father, the  son,
recently paralyzed, and both of whom , were mentors
to one who will  soon become.. "the swan rider"
