Starting Again

Starting Again

A Poem by JayJayBlue
"

It's all about having to change the way you look at someone after a damaged relationship

"
It starts as a revelation
And ends in despair
I'm sure we spent the nights in love
And for us the stars did align
But all I am is a mechanism
Only for wasting time
Maybe I can change the inevitable
And colour your dark heart white
But there's nothing there but regret
And all my words meant nothing
We'll start again
But we're colder now
And we're moving on
We're only friends
And equally guilty
And self-destructive
You leave me conflicted
Between sorrow and malice
Maybe it could've been more than this
I was just a crutch
Useful but forgotten
Is there a chance in hell for me?
I can feel the uncertainty
Now there's nothing here left
And all my words meant nothing
We'll start again
But we're colder now
And we're moving on
We're only friends
And equally guilty
And self-destructive
