The Keys I Discarded

The Keys I Discarded

A Poem by JayJayBlue
"

How, through our own failures and errors, we often push away people we care about

"
We've dug our graves for every occasion
Celebrating the deaths of each emotion
We're our demons and our own saints
We are only by ourselves betrayed
Ashes and dust, memories to the wind
I'm anxious to see the outcome
So I'll drown my world in it's own sins
So shall I send a letter or wave goodbye
(I'm a pulsar ready to destroy)
The hero has the keys to kingdom
(It's a savage, destructive type of joy)
Using them to lock himself away
I returned in the middle of the night
To put back the pieces of your glass heart
And there's little use now in crying
As I'm already past the event horizon
A funeral pyre for all my calamities
Another mistake that I had to make
So I'll strangle what hope is left in me
So shall I send a letter or wave goodbye
(I'm a pulsar ready to destroy)
The hero has the keys to kingdom
(It's a savage, destructive type of joy)
Using them to lock himself away
