A King Or Lesser GodA Poem by JayJayBlueAbout seeing how narcissistic people can be
Raise the flag, don the finery
Place yourself upon the pedestal Award yourself the position of general Or better perhaps a lesser god Anything to be superior to me Weave a story, draped in false glory Create a wall brick and one way glass As we fall and die upon the grass Proclaim a victory over death I'm drawing my final breath Drag yourself away from the light Lower your shield Crack the mirrors Put down all of your potions Witch's hexes The effects all fade Confess your insecurities You and I are on a level plain Mutually suffering an intense pain Are you still the lesser god Or will you acknowledge me? Dance among the dead, my lady Step down from the pedestal Cease your war with the rebels Throw open the palace gates Destroy the keys to the kingdom Drag yourself away from the light Lower your shield Crack the mirrors Put down all of your potions Witch's hexes The effects all fade © 2015 JayJayBlue |
