Fairy GoldA Poem by JayJayBlueAbout how we try to live our lives/relationships in accordance to the rules of fairy tales/love stories, but not realising that all the stories are based in blood
Everybody wants the fairytale ending
But we all forgot that the books And the characters are flawed And all stained in blood Everybody sees the prince on the horse But not the wreckage in his wake Or the bodies of peasants All trampled in the mud The charm's wearing thin And your love Is dead as soon as it's born The smiles are fake Nothing but fairy gold Vanishing in the dawn I see the beauty steal the crown How she murdered her friends Desecrated the memory of paradise And left her mother to drown Romeo and Juliet are a warning Not an example for us to follow But the world sees beauty As I shake my head in sorrow The charm's wearing thin And your love Is dead as soon as it's born The smiles are fake Nothing but fairy gold Vanishing in the dawn © 2015 JayJayBlue |
