Heartbeats of a Different TimeA Poem by JayJayBlueIt's about long-distance relationships and all the drawback/positives involved
And we're stepping in time
Though we're both staring into an empty space We're living on the same page Of a different novel Our hearts begin to beat as one Though the echo dies across the miles I'm weighing up the good and the bad Seeing if any of this is worth my while Let's just sit here forever And wonder why our fates could've been kinder Your face, finally in view Makes me smile, But should I believe her One time we'll take a shot And suspend our respective realities In the short term there's only bitter loneliness In the future there's a light I'll carry your fractured soul to it's righteous home Though I cannot promise the world I cannot promise anything but a kiss Or perhaps empty-headed dreams The laughter and the fear The fear of something new Of a love that arrived far too soon And nothing good will come of this Or is there a different path Escape our respective destinies And face it all with a laugh
