The Horror ShowA Poem by JayJayBlueAbout being with someone who is compatible and similar to yourself, but realising that you don't like who you've become
You're the mirror image
The light and the reflection of my shape You're the second half of me What makes my jagged body whole A missing piece of a puzzle I wish I never solved I see all of my nature in your eyes And I feel that in some ways it was fate But what I know of myself I despise And I'll have to chase you away There's no happy ending to our story There's no reason to stay And the reasons that I loved you Are now pictures of a horrorshow Every morning I wonder why I ever said hello? But in my crooked heart I know It's the way we were meant to go You're a less than honest mistake A reason I have to hold another regret Another reason to resent humanity You're the shadow behind the sun All of my shortcomings Embodied in love I've been running away since I can't explain our connection But now I'm obsessed Though I didn't intend to adore you We tried to change each other But we were always doomed And the reasons that I loved you Are now pictures of a horrorshow Every morning I wonder why I ever said hello? But in my crooked heart I know It's the way we were meant to go © 2014 JayJayBlue |
