Barriers All ErodingA Poem by JayJayBlueAnother ode to an uncertain love
I know we started in primal adoration
When there was nothing but a quickening heartbeat And the pounding of the blood in my brain And in the morning we'll feel the shame As we stare out to the welcoming rain But we'll do it all over again The rum and coke gives me a sense of confidence A swagger to draw your beauty in Dizzy from the buzz of the drink As our inhibitions begin to sink I'll remember flashes of those times But I can feel so much more than lust We're both broken from the past Buried all of our emotions And cremated our sense of trust And as the days and weeks elapse Our barriers all eroding, starting to collapse The way we are is defined by spite But together we can be a fractured whole Your smile shines for me, a wonderful sight This love is all rushed and hurried The wind quickening and pushing us away My words to you were always the truth And every smile meant to enlighten You're the piece of the puzzle I can't ever afford to lose I'll remember flashes of a weird night A weird feeling, a crooked romance We're scared of what's to come And I'll allow myself a hope To see the dawning sun
