Are Any Of Us Angels, Girl?

Are Any Of Us Angels, Girl?

A Poem by JayJayBlue
"

About how people are so quick to adopt the moral high ground without looking at their own sins and mistakes

"
She's a self-appointed judge of all my emotions
Everyone is guilty, now it seems
Even though she's far from sainthood herself
Even she has the same old forbidden dreams

And now she sees fit to destroy me completely
To raise up her now-flagging self-esteem
And she'll let everybody burn
Till all their lessons have been learned
Put an end to all forbidden dreams

Who's to say who's wrong or right?
The artist knows nothing but shades
The colour grey spilling over the black and white
And we're all sharing the blame

Everybody's secrets exposed to the world
Are you really so angelic now, girl?

Holier-than-thou and standing tall
She threw her heart away with the keys
As she intervenes for the umpteenth time
Only she can as she'll please

Are we all as damaged as each other
Or is she the exception to the rule
Should I stay quiet or begin to unfurl
All her secrets to the world
At least I'm honest when I hurt you
At least I'm honest when I'm cruel

Who's to say who's wrong or right?
The artist knows nothing but shades
The colour grey spilling over the black and white
And we're all sharing the blame

Everybody's secrets exposed to the world
Are you really so angelic now, girl?
