Repenting Angels

Repenting Angels

A Poem by JayJayBlue
"

About how people expect others to love them despite their flaws, yet do nothing to change themselves

"
If you can't stand me at my worst,
You don't love me at my best
It's a phrase I've come to detest
You're wasting time describing your imperfections
Yet you expect everybody else to change
Cause it's fine to love the madness
If you're not the one who's sane
I'm trying to find a reason to love you
But the scales were already broken
Who cares about the letters you wrote
Or the times 'I love you' was spoken
She's nothing but an angel to me
I believe she's from heaven sent
But she's only here to repent
You're squandering another chance of happiness
But hey, you think the world should be yours
No wonder nobody can keep loving you
I should've cast you off long before
I need more than your touch
And to hear 'I love you' over and over
We can all adore you when drunk
But despise you when we're sober
