Waving The White FlagA Poem by JayJayBlueAbout willingly people will settle and fall in love with people that are a negative or destructive influence
We invite you to the battleground
Love is an arena defiled several times All of the heartbreak set to repeat All those tears already cried Have you seen the tired logic? "I'm trapped in a dark place" "It's just something I have to do" It's just I'm so f*****g tired of you Why should you rise from the ashes When you keep walking back into the fire? She feels a sense of duty To make what's broken whole again He feels complacency It's easier to settle than to lose He feels placated and secure Gamble with her misplaced feelings She's naive, self-destructing It's easier to surrender than to refuse Romance is a country in turmoil It endures for no reason but fear Of being left out in the cold Is it better to be bought and sold? There's no better life in this To be together for no reason at all Do you want a place to rest your head? You should just fall asleep instead You just keep coming back Your friends wave the white flag She feels a sense of duty To make what's broken whole again He feels complacency It's easier to settle than to lose He feels placated and secure Gamble with her misplaced feelings She's naive, self-destructing It's easier to surrender than to refuse And at the finish As the credits roll There's no sunsets in paradise for us Just the ghosts and feeling cold
