Cease The War

It's all about personal struggle and knowing that you have to sacrifice a lot in order to be where you want to be

I found courage in the depths of my troubles

To raise up the flag of surrender

And throw myself to my knees

And plead for an armistice

My energy now depleted with the struggle

I was never a king, only a pretender

My struggles have made me bleed

And I've abandoned my cause

I can see nothing 

But I request a helping hand

No conditions or games 

I'll bring no guns

I have nowhere to run

I just want to feel alive

I just want a release

I want to cease the war in my mind

And bask in a simple peace

The tears I shed drips out my sanity

I'm alive but my mind is twisted and frayed

I'll start again from the abyss

I'll raise up and someday be king

I love this! We are all insane but its if we show it or control it that truly differentiates the sane and insane. We all pretend to be someone we aren't whether we know it or not. We have gotten so used to living our day to day lives we get stuck in autopilot. To change the mindset:
'I'll raise up and someday be king'
This is what your poem expresses to me.
Mindset is key in a lot of ways.
