Demons AsleepA Poem by JayJayBlueAbout how traumas felt in childhood can affect the rest of your life
I severed every connection with you
I don't spend my time wondering about the past All the scars I've collected All my relationships burned and crashed The legacy of your parenthood I scorched the earth on which you walk I haven't spent my years wallowing in the dark All the memories I've purged The aborted adventures I try to start The idea of love is never enough A summary of swinging emotions All compressed into to the chorus It's everybody's fault but my own That I never left the demons To fall asleep at home The calm has come for once Now I'm resting in between moods The fire and the ice temporarily fade The grey between the red and the blue Pondering on my tattered childhood All of my vision tuned to crimson Over and over I push another away Who's fault is it but my own That I never left the demons To fall asleep at home
