On The Bonfire

About admitting that you are beyond salvation and help

I'm just a pariah
A Guy Fawkes to send to the Inquisition
And place on top of the autumn fire
I'm the necessary evil
Sent to darken the clouds
And poison the atmosphere

I've seen myself transition from hero to villain
And mirrors crack
All fractured like my soul
I've appeared before the judges
Guilty of all your accusations
I'll just cast a shrug in your direction

I'm just the visage
Of all your failures and sorrows
True love is unhealthy, a mirage
I'm the false salvation
Sent to conspire against you
And destroy all creation

I've seen myself sent to the gallows
Before the noose
I only regret bringing everyone else
Down into hell with me
Ready for the end
I'll just smirk at your belligerent stares

Come and fall away
Hell is not romantic
Heaven is not a paradise
Come with me and stay
I'm not seductive
I'm flawed like you
