No Joy Or SorrowA Poem by JayJayBlueAbout when people become bored or weary with the monotony of their lives
She professes love for me
Unending, and I'm everything she could want But I don't see what she could see I'm not made to be your shining light Or for long, withdrawn winter nights Together under the blankets My friends are in a frenzy Dancing, falling in love in a whirl Indulging movie-based fantasies I'm not cut out for strobe lights Or for the drug-fueled club nights Together until the tired morning I'm not in love Nothing fills me with joy or sorrow Anger has no place in my heart I'm between love and revulsion Just empty and weary I've made boredom into an art My family all expect me to build a life To develop a normal sense of future I want nothing now, no children or bloated wife I'm on the outside of society No love lost or gained for me Just a constant sense of in completion I'm not in love Nothing fills me with joy or sorrow Anger has no place in my heart I'm between love and revulsion Just empty and weary I've made boredom into an art © 2013 JayJayBlueFeatured Review
