Subtle TyrannyA Poem by JayJayBlueAbout how people confuse someone being protective with being domineering and cruel, most times when it's too late
I'm surrounded by a frosty embrace
And I'm looking out towards my friends He strikes a glare in the same direction He's taking me away from this place For my own good in the end Taking me to finer heights Money and jewellery sent my way But there's a subtle cruelty And I know I've been betrayed But it's all for my good He's only cause he loves me And now he takes a look at my messages Demanding I decode every response Checking through everyone I've known He breaths in, a belligerent energy All of my friends are now the enemy Taking me to finer heights Money and jewellery sent my way But there's a subtle cruelty And I know I've been betrayed But it's all for my good The world is too scary on my own He's high on heroin, or possibly cocaine He's choking off the route to escape He's watching me, moulding me into an empty shell And I know I've been tricked, but too late But it's all for my good The bruises are all my own fault
