![]() Turning The PageA Poem by JayJayBlue![]() About finally realising that you have to burn bridges with someone, even if it is painful for all parties concerned![]()
I spent so many years with you
You turned me from nothing to a king And your family, so warmly embraced me too But time and curiosity drained my smile And I so cruelly broke what we had built And I sentenced myself to exile I departed Eden and shut myself away I both love and despise this new silence But I knew it'd poison you if I stayed But I couldn't leave the golden past to die All I had left was restless ghosts And the memories I left behind I turn the page for the final time Remnants of your voice Echoing in my mind A few wretched months down the line We meet again in mutual agony And our hearts and souls soon realign We're in a hollow bliss for a short while But the cracks are soon starting to show And I can't dwell anymore in denial And now, oh how we're distant now Trying to keep the rotting past alive Maintaining a fantasy we both allowed And now I must finally turn the page To close on the chapters we shared To surrender our youth, end of an era End of a phase I turn the page for the final time At last I know I must say goodbye I turn the page for the final time Her's, and everyone's goodbyes, Echoing in my mind
