Dreaming Of WildlandsA Poem by JayJayBlueAbout wishing you could control more of your life, rather than the words and stories that you weave
I'm dreaming of far away places
Of North Carolina wildlands and free hearts I'm spending time in between the spaces Finding a path to make my way to you Finding out the right words to say I can control the world with my words Because my dreams are running wild With the thought of you I can sculpt this place with my rhymes The world's falling before my eyes I can't ever see you too soon And today I'll awake To a distant echo of your soothing voice But I don't want to fall in love Though are the poets ever given a choice I'm thinking of far away countries Of southern lands and poetical souls I'm drinking away in the void tonight I've given to this every rational thought but I know I can only surrender Surrender myself to the flight I can morph my life with my words But there's barely a ripple in the water In your thoughts this evening I can't change the world with poems Or pick and choose The good and the bad omens And today I'll awake To a distant echo of your soothing voice But I don't want to fall in love Though are the poets ever given a choice © 2013 JayJayBlueFeatured Review
