Electric Sphere

I’m caught out of the safe haven of a locked up heart

She’s in love with everybody else but me

I feel my eyes close and feel my sanity depart

But it’s still a better night than I thought it’d be

 

Laying on my back

There’s no upshot to this night

Though maybe I’ll find a light

Maybe I’ll finally have something to write

 

I can’t tell her anything

But I’ll spill my solemn fears to strangers

Troubled hearts in an electric sphere

But what can I do

Blame my failures all on her

Or take my weary words and disappear

 

I’m kicked out of her adoration, I’m only a friend

She’ll win and lose in the space of a day

I’ll just make a false smile and play pretend

I’ve given up a resistance to my tear-stained fate

 

Drifting off to my dreams

I’ll exile myself from this place

Left in the void in space

Given up the hope of embrace
