Reflections of a Patriot, 9/17/01

A Poem by Jason Kelley
"

I guess basically my reaction to September 11 and the terrorist attacks about a week after they happened. From a few of our government and in no way a reflection of any victims of the tragedy.

"
Honestly
what are you
saving?
craving
capitalistic
magnificent
the cause
of trades
falling
crying
dying
beauty
should we
be proud
to be American?
Capitalistic.

Proud to be
far from me
disgusted
with all
I see
freedom,
Democracy,
Capitalism,
Synonyms?
Not to me
Are you sure
Your proud to be?

We your buddy
mask the ugly
maintain
civil right
must fight
usually not
our business
A little village
such a threat
bomb them to hell
No one will know
Alls well

Well guess what
it catches up
whether
wrong or
right
Just fight
our own
fights
keep our nose
out of the world
Listen to the words
I've told

The USA government is making some crazy decisions. Russian (Neighbor) could not change people who culture is 5,000 year old. We have people who believe they can change the world to being like us in the USA. USA is special. We have our problems. We don't toss acid into young girls faces for going to school. We respect our woman. I'm a proud USA citizen. We need to leave the old countries alone. We become the enemy when 100,000 soldiers are roaming their land. Your poem was outstanding. Made the reader think.
