When You See a Stranger

When You See a Stranger

A Poem by JayG
"

A bit of silliness for the kids. Prosody is a bit off and there are inconsistencies stanza-to-stanza, but luckily, kids don't notice

"

When You See a Stranger

A question for kids

You see a stranger on the street

Where would you go, if you wore his feet?

Is he kind to his children? Is he nice to his wife?

Or is his day troubled…and filled with strife?

With what kind of treat does he end his meal?

Is it ice cream and pie, or crackers with eel?

Is reddish purple his favorite hue?

Or greenish red, all mixed with blue?

Does he drive a car or row a boat?

Fly an eagle…or ride a goat?

How does he get where he hopes to be?

Perhaps he swings from tree-to-tree?

Is his family nice or zombie-esque?

Do they call to talk or only text?

Do they read a book or do they dance?

When danger calls do they take a chance?

But, asking that, a thought occurs.

Would they like your world?

Would you like theirs?

Well done. Good imagery interplay. My favorite is "do they take a chance?"

Those are some good questions but I am sure you've got all the answers. Soft poetry is calming and the storyline is just starting here. You could do some real good there.

As someone who constantly thinks of how different each person's life on this planet is, this poem was a delight to read. Loved it!

This is an entertaining poem with a good rhythm, but it also has a message. I also enjoyed reading your profile, especially the part about being a scout cub master. My grandson, whom I'm raising, was in scouts for a few years and I appreciated the scout leaders, especially since he needed men in his life.

Many of us die prematurely because we lose that sense of wonder and curiousity so natural to children. This is a beautiful depiction of how thoughts not only point out the way we go, but shows how our sense of curiousity can give us wings to fly to unexplored and unreachable realms. An enjoyable read

This was a very enjoyable read!
I’m new to writing and poetry, but I’ve read Twain and this has some humorous bits like his work does.

Hellos JayG. That's a funny fact. At first end, I thought it a little silly-up.
I reread, and it opened my eyes to psychology. Interesting question, point, and
change in turn the table-knock. Now you become the stalker. Even if harmelss.
You enjoy them. (Poem decern). But thee question was, put your feet and follow.
But changed to Stalker. Then my subjective, joy, is that in the would the stalker be loved?
Or just the jack-rabbit, be loved? Magnificent. Good one! Good one. Ha ha, 1809 Black Plague December

I really enjoyed this! A fun Seuss-esk exploration of the sorts of things that Children focus on, and maybe we should focus on more as an adult.
