1951 New York City 2am

Joseph slipped out the back door of the madison speakeasy, tripping over the back stairs he caught himself from falling, then began to stumble down the alleyway towards twelfth and haven street. Dense fog and subtle mist covered the alley and one street light looked like a halo in the night from the lingering dew. Joseph head throbbed and the whisky had taken over most of his coordination and balance. Somehow Joseph managed to make his way down the alley, desperately looking for a taxi on haven. As Joseph continued down the alley he heard strange noises coming from a rear door of an abandoned building. Curiosity overcame Joseph and he pried his ear to the rotting door. Buzz!, Crack!, Squeal! sounded through the the room! Joseph had never heard such sounds in his entire life, he thought to himself it sounded like some sort of electricity, like light switches being turned on and off but sharply and skewed and precise with perfect tones at the same time. Joseph shook his head thinking the whisky really did a number on him but still he was surely convinced that the sounds were real! Joseph thought he should say something before opening the door but he had to see what could possibly be making such a noise first. He slowly opened the door and a strange odor was in the room, unlike anything he has ever smelled before. Joseph was certain something was burning but the smell was unfamiliar and could only compare it to wax or a tire burning. Moving further into the abandoned warehouse there was nothing inside but rotting wood and old bins rusting to the core, turning a corner Joseph came across a man hunched over something metallic about the size of a 51 ford club coupe. Joseph walked closer, he felt so much disbelief he began to feel ill, almost as if he was going to pass out from the pressure of his heart racing. He saw a metal figure so finely polished with electric lightning bolts and different colored lights in tones he had never seen before and they appeared to produce noises! Joseph said "uhh sir" The man quickly turned around and opened his eyes widely and gasped in total shock! He took out a small flat device and it scanned Joseph's face with a fine green light. Joseph then responded "What is this, what are you..." then Zap!, Joseph fell down unconscious on the cold warehouse floor.
