My house

My house

A Poem by Someday Shine

You’re left over
From Suns passed under

A relic from a time
Where I played fine

You were supposed to be entertainment
That turned into a trap to make me forget

That today I did what I was told
Lived your dreams, but mine left for when I’m old

You’re not welcome anymore
But you hang around
Like a fly missing an open door

Your buzzing in my brain
Cut canals deep that I’m still trying to contain

But now I don’t fear the sunshine
I’m happy with how I pass the time

It’s time for you to go
And I’m going to get you out of my house, if I have to open every window

Love that metaphor!! This is excellent, especially the depth of it.

Thanks Grace. Always great to get some views and opinions. Appreciate you taking the time.
I love that analogy, a fly that won't leave. Really good.
