Forbidden Fruit

Forbidden Fruit

A Poem by Jaxson Phoenix

I long to hold her in my arms
and never let her go
but timid am I
and that is why
my feelings I don't show

She is like forbidden fruit
growing on a tree
out of reach
or so they preach
to a fool such as me

Should I journey on a path
which suddenly may end
to risk it all
and take the fall
and maybe lose a friend

For life is most dangerous
when it comes to love
it's what we seek
the mighty and meek
and ask of God above

Yes - Love - the ever essence of life! Choices need to be done - but which one is the right one ?! ...

Very good piece. Makes me wonder about the reason why it is a forbidden fruit - the wife/friend of the best pal? - born to an other society? - religion in whatever way? - anyway this is a wonderful piece and I enjoyed it very much!
