Dream Lover

Dream Lover

A Poem by Jaxson Phoenix

I met the woman of my dreams
while standing in the rain.
She smiled and I knew at once
That she could ease my pain.

Her hair was long and golden
and shone bright as mid-day sun.
Then she smiled as if to say,
it has only just begun.

Her lips were red and luscious.
Her countenance had a gleam.
She filled my heart with such delight
I thought, this must be a dream.

I begged the Goddess of Love
to help me win her hand.
But she laughed as if to say,
such beauty can't be held by man.

Ever diligent I must be
on this quest to make her mine.
Crossing mountains and valleys
and even oceans of time.

I will forever worship
at the altar of her love.
Hoping that this angel
Will come down from above.
