Innocence Lost

Innocence Lost

A Poem by Jaxson Phoenix

In silence he moves
like many nights before.
To take a precious angel
and use her like a w***e.

Her trust he has betrayed
to fill a void inside.
Now she has nobody
in whom she can confide.

He leaves the way he came
while silently she weeps,
unable to reveal
this secret that she keeps.

He says, they won't believe her.
That she can never tell,
how he comes in nightly
and makes her life a Hell.

Her innocence is lost
and she can only cry.
But silently she wishes
that her Dad would die.

Very touching! So many live with pain and resentment all their lives due to molestation. A pure heart changed in the blink of an eye. A pain that lives forever in the soul.

So sad, and unfortunately too often a true story. It's a pity that human beings are able to such cruelties ...
This is a great work. Very touching and thought provoking. Wonderful rhythmic and rhyme. This one is creeping deep beneath one's skin. Great job!
