hold true

hold true

A Poem by Josiah
"

inspiration of my own

"
hold true to your beliefs,
for they are the foundation on which you stand.
the lack of beliefs may grant you freedom from obligation,
but also a freedom from purpose.

hold true to your faith,
and you faith shall hold true to you.
the lack of faith may grant you independence,
but will limit your list of allies.

hold true to you morals,
as they guide you precise and true.
the lack of morals may allow for limitless movement,
but will rip away the worth of your actions

so hold true to yourself,
for you are all you control.
the lack of "yourself" grants no consequence or obligation,
but limits the impact on those you aspire to protect.
