MirrorA Poem by Cjb
I stared into the mirror too long
In the candle lit room Gazing into the reflection of my own eyes. What once was green is now black as coal Is now lifeless and as cold as snow. Motionless I sat, watching the image I once loved Turn into a monster I now hate. the candle has since burned out Yet I sit and wait. For this darkness to shift into me again. This distorted figure before me taunts me with his Black eyes and lizard tounge of lies. Days will pass before I realise this isn't a distorted figment of my imagination. This is who I have become. © 2017 Cjb |
