Manmade Clock

Manmade Clock

A Poem by Cjb

With every tick of the clock
The hands will move clockwise
The numbers on the clockface are limited
As are your breaths and heartbeats
Seconds turn to minutes
Minutes turn to hours
Hours to days to weeks to years.

Measurements in time are a manmade concept
Yet every living being follows the same biological clock
To unfair numbered days on this rock we call home.
To be born on this Earth to live and to die alone
Some last more than others
But time does not stop
For another second ticks its toc on the manmade clock
