A Flooding Mind

A Flooding Mind

A Poem by Cjb

I'm drowning in a deep sea of thoughts
My thoughts are as deep as an abyss
Flow as violent a rivers rapids
My thoughts are as beautiful as the beach on a mid July's day
As the sun sets reflects over the horizon where the water meets the sky.
While others enjoy the view, I cannot
I'm stranded in a shark cage
At the bottom of the sea floor
A diver running out of oxygen
As my thoughts continue to flood my mind
Faster than my mind can unplug the drain

For my thoughts, my words, my voice
Have went unheard for too long
A penny for thought?
When I cannot give mine away for free

I love how after the first three lines you paint a beautiful picture of a beach, but you're actually stranded in a shark cage drowning... Deep thoughts, deep poem. Thanks for sharing!
