Lilac Springs

Lilac Springs

A Poem by Java Bum
"

The thing about this one is kinda special. Ever since I met this woman, I've had the words "lilac springs" in my head. I never knew what to do with it, and then one day, at the bar, I wrote this.

"

Down within the ravine
Cleft in the valleys deep
Is a place I cherish so
The home of my lilac springs
A place to wash away the past
And harbor our fragile dreams

Hold on tight to the desires you have
Make a wish on the rocky sands
Breathe a sigh and slip on in
And let the churning waters fan
The pieces of you, you've stilled
And bask with me, heart-in-hand

In this garden of life, observe
The waters lap petals so gently
Scent the aromas of youth
And what flows inside you is intoxicating
As I let my yearning go free
I know that with you, I long for nothing

My body led you here
To the shrine of my fey peace
My heart held out to you
Knowing how your touch can ease
My battered soul is laid open
So that our love may bear these lilac springs
